Castlevania Lords Of Shadow 2 PS3 review How do you kill Drac? With robots, apparently OPM

OPM: Playing the first hour of Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2 is like speed running through the three emotions you feel throughout the rest of the game: amazement, frustration and disappointment. A searing opening introduces you to Gabriel Belmonts brilliant new arsenal the Void Sword, Chaos Claws and Shadow Whip and then asks, can you stick them into that golden angel bloke, and this golem the size of a small mountain range? With pleasure. Its a perfect tutorial grandiose, mildly challenging and an instant reminder of why we loved the first game so damned much.

Let's just start out by stating that Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 is way more amazing than the first one in every way possible. This game has a much more vengeful story line, better graphics, a ton more fighting, more areas to explore, and just all around better gameplay.

CGMagazine Reviews: Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 Review: Great Addition to the Family

Everyone wants to play as the monster. Thats an exaggeration, of course, but theres evidence that gamers enjoy playing as the other end of he Gothic human/inhuman duality. Legacy of Kain is the first example I think of; the cult-hit action platformer starring its immortal and damned titular protagonist and his quest for redemption (maybe?). Its an example we should keep in mind, as Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has a very similar premise.

GameSpot : Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 Review

Added: 25.02.2014 16:16 | 9 views | 0 comments

Castlevania: Lords of Shadows is occasionally beautiful, occasionally exciting, and occasionally rewarding. However, to fully enjoy its best parts, you must endure a handful of drab settings and boring stealth puzzles along the way. At times, it's enough to make you want to put the controller down. But stick around until the end, and you'll enjoy a satisfying reward of eye-catching boss fights and a satisfying conclusion that ultimately diminishes the negative impact of the game's earlier issues. Lords of Shadow 2's story should resonate with anyone with a continuing interest in the series' narrative, and even though the ending won't hit newcomers as hard, the occasionally fantastic environments and monsters create a worthwhile experience that stands tall on its own by the end of the tale.

Digital Spy: Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 review (PS3): Hit and miss vampire action

Keen to capitalise on the following accrued by the original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Konami has invested big bucks in a sequel that features bigger action set-pieces, an epic musical score and a returning Hollywood cast. Unfortunately, however, Lords of Shadow 2 is an inconsistent game that throws lots of ideas at that wall, but can't quite make everything stick.
